Free Montessori-inspired Summer printables
Jul 6, 2024 - Montessori Downloadables , Summer - By Carine Robin
Summer has arrived and you might be in need of new Montessori ideas. I have created these three free printables which you can take on holiday or use at home for some fresh summer-themed activities. They are perfect for toddlers and preschoolers.
Match shadow-to-picture
The first activity is a match-the-shadow-to-the-picture, perfect for toddlers who enjoy sorting and matching. We use realistic illustrations, as one of the fundamentals of Montessori education is to provide a realistic view of the world.
Sort by sizes
The second activity involves sorting pictures by size. As you help your child classify the pictures, use vocabulary such as "small," "medium," and "big." Ask questions like "Which one is the biggest?" "Which one is the smallest?" "Which one is bigger than this one?" You can also give commands such as "Give me the smaller ball" and "Put the bigger ball here." This activity develops pre-maths skills as well as language abilities.
